Desert Willow Elementary School

As part of our PE classes, your child will have the opportunity to participate to Desert Willow’s First Hoop Shoot Contest. The contest will be held in Desert Willow's Gym on November 12th, 2024 from 7:30 – 9:30 AM. Whoever qualifies and wins will be representing Desert Willow in the Annual Elk’s Lodge Hoop Shoot Contest on December 14th, 2024 to be held at the Kingman Academy of Learning. Each participant will receive a certificate and token of participation. A photo of the contest rules are included along with the registration form. If you would like your child to participate, please indicate this by singing on the bottom line of their registration form. Completed and signed forms can be returned to the students' homeroom teacher by November 9th.

📢 COUNTDOWN to our Trunk or Treat event! Wednesday, October 30th from 5:30 - 8:00pm. We’ll have food trucks, candy, decorated trunks, spooky costumes and more at our campus! 👻 🎃 THANK YOU to all our amazing students and families who have already donated candy to this event 🍬 🍭 🍫 can’t wait to see you there! 😄

Mohave Community College (Kingman Campus) is hosting its annual Pumpkinfest event for the community on October 25th from 6-8pm ! This event is free. Expect candy, treats, games and much more! :)

In observance of Veterans Day, on Thursday November 7th, Desert Willow would like to invite all of our amazing Veterans and their families to our campus as we host events and activities that recognize and honor those who have served our country. 🥳 This event will be held at our school starting at 8am. Check the attached flyer for more details!

Last Thursday, your child brought home a Parent Information Envelope letting you know about a safe and easy way for our school to raise funds for essential tools our students and teachers need to succeed. The Reading for Education fundraiser is 100% online so there is NO face-to-face selling, handling money, or delivering products. Your participation will take less than 12 minutes, and there are exciting prizes to make it fun for the students. Here is all you need to do to participate: 1. Go to https://www.rfe.net/sid.t?0000139068 to sign up. 2. Send form emails inviting family, friends and co-workers to support your child. 3. Return the Envelope with the Student Prize Code to school for your child to get their fun participation prize. Be sure to ask your child for the Parent Envelope that came home on Thursday. Your participation will make a difference for our school and teachers!

Desert Willow is implementing the ‘Meet the Masters’ art program this year for the very first time! We are looking for Desert Willow parent-volunteers who would be interested in teaching art lessons inside classrooms for our Kindergarten through 5th grade students.
